2008 Porsche Cayman S 'Sport' Edition #211/700

Limited to just 700 examples worldwide, the 2008 Cayman S Sport is one of the rarest special edition Caymans ever produced. Factory numbered and built to celebrate the Cayman platform, it remains one of the most overlooked modern Porsche collector cars. It is believed that fewer than 150 examples were delivered to North America.

The Sport Edition received a power increase to approximately 303 horsepower and came standard with Sport Chrono Plus, Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE), Cayman S Sport aluminum door sill plates, and a numbered plaque mounted inside the glovebox. Inspired by the then-new 997 GT3 RS, the Sport Edition was offered in a range of bold colors and featured unique side graphics. Standard colors included GT3 Orange and GT3 Green, while Black, Indian Red, Speed Yellow, and Carrara White were available as optional selections.

Distinctive exterior details included black 19-inch Carrera Sport wheels, black mirror caps, black intake grilles, and Cayman S side graphics.

This particular example, number 211 of 700, is a one owner car from new. It spent its entire life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was purchased, serviced, and maintained exclusively through Autobahn Porsche of Fort Worth, Texas, from whom we acquired the vehicle. Showing 115,000 miles, this is a Cayman that was driven, enjoyed, and properly maintained throughout its life.

The Sport Edition interior features Piano Black trim throughout the cabin, a significant upgrade over the standard soft touch finishes of the era. Beyond looking fantastic, these surfaces eliminate the common peeling concerns associated with Porsche interiors of the period.

A standout feature of this car is the addition of Recaro Sportster CS seats trimmed in black Alcantara, representing a $4,000+ upgrade and providing substantially improved support and driving position over the factory seats. The car is also equipped with a full FVD exhaust system( $9600 cost today)  giving the flat six a sharper and more aggressive soundtrack. Otherwise, the car remains largely stock.

At approximately 112,000 miles in late 2024, Autobahn Porsche of Fort Worth performed a major service that included:

• Multi point inspection
• Battery replacement
• Drive belt inspection
• Front brake pads replaced
• Front brake rotors replaced
• Front door latch replaced

In addition, the clutch and flywheel were replaced at approximately 50,000 miles. The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with 2022 date codes and good remaining tread depth.

In preparation for sale, the oil was changed and the headliner was replaced.
